Knowledge for College (How to NOT Flunk out of College)
Hey! My name is Ari and I'm a freshman in college. Even though I've only been here for a few weeks, I think I had a pretty good idea of what's going on here and how to handle it all. Enjoy my blog, I hope you all learn a lot and maybe actually take a few of my tips, because there's some pretty helpful stuff here!

7. Love Thy Neighbor! If you're living on campus, get to know your neighbors. After all, you are going to be living next to them for a whole year. Make friends with them, they can always be a huge help, from homework to hardware and everything in between. In my dorm anytime there is a spider or something is broken, we call on our neighbors to help us out. Anytime they need something cleaned or help with homework, we make time for each other. Even if your neighbors aren't your best friends, at least make nice with them. The last thing you need is an enemy living next door to you who can be as obnoxious and distracting as they want if they want to mess with you.
6. Goin' Greek! If you're in college you should definitely consider going Greek, but only if it's for you. It's a really great way to get involved and get to know a ton of people. Since I started pledging I've met so many new people and had a ton of great experiences. I even got to go pumpkin "acquiring" with a few other Greek organizations.
But make sure Greek Life is definitely something that you want to do. It takes up a lot of your time, and for some of you, it might not be worth it. But definitely check out rush before you decide that going Greek isn't for you.

5. Ration Your Food! It may seem a little dumb at first, but you really can't just eat EVERYTHING in your dorm all at once. When I first moved into my dorm, my roommates and I brought a TON of food with us. Our RA told us that by the end of the month, we'd be scrounging for food. We all all thought "Nah, we've got a ton of food, it'll last." Well, within three weeks, we were living on bottled water and mac and cheese because that's all we had left and we had run out of cash.
You WILL end up living by this rule

4. Limit Your Distractions! I know with all the fun stuff on the internet and all your friends around, it's really difficult to focus, so sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and remove yourself from the distractions. I've had several nights where I decided that socializing was more important than getting my homework done early, I thought, "I'll just stay up tonight and finish it." But the distractions only got worse and I ended up until 4 in the morning struggling to finish my work. (Though I did get some funny stuff from the conversations I had while putting off my work.)
Don't let the picture fool you, it really IS a bad idea.
